Welcome to Mrs Mason’s class page. The children have settled really well into Foundation two. We have been very busy laying the foundations in your child’s learning. We have been teaching phonemes (letter sounds) which we will be continuing to do so in addition to applying these to read and write words. The children have learnt how to count accurately, recognise numbers and use maths vocabulary appropriately. The knowledge and understanding will be built upon in the forthcoming months to add and subtract.
The class have enjoyed using the outdoor equipment in particular the mud kitchen!
Messy activities seem to be very popular in supporting the children’s learning. The children have been forming letters in foam and glitter and exploring the contents of pumpkins.
The class have recently been on a school trip to the woodlands for the sponsored walk. The children were very well behaved walking an extremely long way to raise money for new outside equipment.
A traveling theater group came to school to perform Robin Hood. The children enjoyed joining in with the songs and pantomime catch phrases, laughing and cheering on the characters.
We look forward to the oncoming events and school trips organised for the next few weeks and thank you for your continued support.
The children have made lots of progress in their learning. It has been a pleasure to see them applying their phonic knowledge to read and write words.
The children had a fantastic time at the pantomime Aladdin. They were an asset to the school. Showing exemplary behaviour. They particularly enjoyed being squirted by water pistols and booing the baddies!
