Some of the Early Years classes at KPI had a visit to Whirlow Hall Farm today. Great fun was had by all, we found out all about the animals on the farm and we even went on a bear hunt! 🐷🐏🐑🐰🐴🐾
There’s some exciting poppy art work projects going on around school this week. This is in preparation for the displays KPI will be making in honour of the WW1 centenary commemoration.
Last week some KS1 classes at KPI had a visit from ‘That Poetry Bloke’, Craig Bradley. It was amazing to see how much fun you can have with words. ‘That Poetry Bloke’ helped us explore the world of words through songs and funny poems. We had a fantastic day and lots of fun with words!
We’ve had some great posters made in EYFS by children who want to be part of KPI School Parliament. Voting starts this week 😊 good luck to everyone!
KPI classes really love the Forest School learning over at Kiveton Community Woodland. This KS1 class had a visit this week and had a fabulous time mud painting a scene from a book, hunting for minibeasts, making animals with clay and designing transient art using things found in the woodland.
Everyone here at KPI are very excited to be involved in the community plans for the Centenary Commemoration of World War 1. Kiveton and Wales have been busy making poppies to create displays over four memorials throughout the two villages. Over the weekend of 10th-11th November 2018 there will be special services held at both Wales Methodist Chapel and Wales Parish Church along with the Remembrance Day Parade on Sunday 11th November.
The weekend will finish with a special lighting of the beacon service on Sunday 11th November that will be held simultaneously throughout the country.
There will be poppy art work from the children at KPI on display at Wales Church and a special quiz has been designed for children and families to take part in over the Remembrance Weekend. Please share the information on this post to spread the word to as many people as possible.
