At Kiveton Park Infant School we endeavour to offer an environment that is welcoming, a place where learning is at the centre of all we do and every child is nurtured to help them achieve their full potential.
As an Infant School we believe our role is to set the foundations for the first stages of a child’s learning journey. This starts in our Nursery and Reception classes where the curriculum focuses on our children’s interests and centres round exploratory learning. Building on this exciting start, in Year 1, we regularly review the children’s key skills of early reading, writing and maths whilst developing a love of learning.
As the children move to Year 2 our aim to promote independence and a sense of responsibility, alongside ensuring that every child makes progress towards the National Expectations for the end of Key Stage 1. During this time we harness strong links with Kiveton Park Meadows Junior School and tailor transition to help our children make the step in to the next phase of their education.
